<18.5 Underweight
  1. Being underweight may caused by genetics, metabolism, or lack of food.
  2. Being underweight may put you at risk for developing some health problems. Please discuss with your doctor for more information.
  3. To reach a healthy weight, suggest you do more exercises, taking more healthy calories and improving your diet. Quitting smoking may also helpful.
18.5-24.9 Normal weight Being normal weight means you are having a healthy weight. Keep on going with your health eating such as good diet with high-quality nutrition, having regular life and doing physical exercises.
25-29.9 Overweight
  1. Being overweight may caused by many reasons, such as genetic, high stress and poor diet, side effects of medicines (e.g. olanzapine) or more common reason like overeating but not doing enough physical exercises.
  2. Being overweight, sometimes regarded as pre-obesity may put you at rich for some chronic diseases. Please discuss with your doctor on how to achieve a healthy weight.
  3. To reach a healthy weight, you may improve your diet with rich nutrition, taking lower calorie and doing more physical exercises. Having a regular life like the amount of high-quality sleep may also helpful.

How does BMI work for children

Body Mass Index (BMI) is used differently for children. First step is to get individual children BMI number using the same formula. In this way collect a statistical data of same age and sex children from the same area, such as same country or same continent, etc. And then compare individual children’s BMI number to the statistical data. If a BMI is at the range of less than 5% will be considered as underweight.
